Responsibilities of the CDC shall mainly be:

  • .Setting the overall directions and goals for Ward 10;
  • Monitoring their implementation and success;
  • Presiding over the appointment of the Board of Trustees and their Executive Committee counter parts.

  • BOARD OF TRUSTES

    Powers of the Board of Trustees shall be:

  • Convening of Annual General Meetings of the CDC
  • Settling disputes between members of the Executive Committee;
  • Securing legal advice or representation whenever an issue requiring legal services arises;
  • Monitoring the CDC’s programmes and projects and ensuring that the same are within the law;
  • Acquiring property for the CDC in any manner the Board deems fit;
  • Seeking funds and resources for the CDC and ensuring that the Council has adequate resources at all times
  • Approving the annual budget of the CDC
  • Carrying out all such activities as are required by CDC’s Constitution or are incidental to or necessary for the proper execution of socio economic development.
  • THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Powers of the Executive Committee shall include:

    Formulating the strategic intent to define what the CDC’s Directorate must get into immediately in order to achieve Ward 10’s vision;

  • Soliciting for bequest, endowments, subscriptions and other benefits for the CDC
  • . Investing and dealing with, in a transparent manner, moneys of the CDC not immediately required for investment (use);
  • Receiving or guaranteeing the payment or re-payment of money due to the CDC in such a manner and on such security as the Executive Committee may determine;
  • Opening and operating bank accounts as determined by the Executive Committee in consultation with the Board of Trustees;
  • Making, drawing, issuing, executing, accepting, endorsing and discounting promissory notes, bills of exchange and any other negotiable and transferable instrument in consultation with the Board of Trustees;
  • Employing, in consultation with the CDC’s Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer, such persons as shall be necessary for executing the CDC’s programmes and projects
  • Making rules and regulations necessary for the proper and efficient functioning of the CDC’s Directorate;
  • Exercising such other powers as shall from time to time be conferred on them by the Board of Trustees.
  • Implementing the objectives of the CDC;
  • Sitting on interviewing panels for appointment of personnel to run community committees set by the CDC for the implementation of the objectives and OM of the infrastructure in the socio economic development zones;
  • Ensuring that property of the CDC is kept safely and properly managed;
  • Approving the CDC’s audited annual financial statements and prepare the budget, in consultation with the Executive Committee, before presentation to the AGM;
  • Exercising such other powers as shall from time to time be conferred on him/her by the Executive Committee or necessary for the discharge of its duties.
